Interactive Games For Your Dog By Nina Ottosson

Nina Ottosson has had dogs nearly all her life and has worked with and been interested in dogs for many years. When she had children, this meant that she did not have the same amount of time to train and stimulate her dogs the way both she and they were used to.

Her guilty conscience made her start to think what she could do to activate her dogs in a simple, fun and varying manner indoors, and since 1990 she has worked on the development and design of interactive dog toys and games that mentally stimulate the dog in a fun and creative way.

This led her to starting her company in 1993 ensuring that the toys could be experienced by the whole world, and today the company continues to work with product development, design and manufacturing.

Nina Ottosson’s range of durable interactive games have been designed to stimulate a dog’s brain whilst reinforcing his relationship with people.

Each design has a unique mechanism that requires mental as well as physical dexterity to work through the challenges and reveal hidden food rewards. They can be set to differing levels of complexity, to satisfy all ages and breeds of dog.

So whether you have a ‘Forrest Gump’ or an ‘Albert Einstein’, there is a Nina Ottosson game design to suit every dog!

"Skijor With Your Dog" Available from University of Alaska Press

Updated "Skijor With Your Dog" Available from University of Alaska Press

"Skijor With Your Dog," now distributed by the University of Alaska Press, has just been released in an updated 4th printing. It is the definitive guide to being pulled on skis by a dog in harness. Readers of previous editions praise it as one of the best books available on dog mushing and skijoring.

The novice, recreational or competitive skijorer will find detailed information on choosing a dog, care and feeding, equipment, teaching your dog to pull, trails and trail etiquette, competition, touring and camping. The chapter on skijoring with children makes it clear that this is an outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy.

Authors Mari Høe‐Raitto and Carol Kaynor share their wealth of experience in a clear, easy‐to-understand style. The foreword by four-time Iditarod Champion Susan Butcher is a powerful endorsement of how much emphasis the authors have placed on dog care and speaks to the powerful bond that develops between dog and owner.

Much of the information in the book is applicable to other forms of dog driving, from sleds to canicross to pulka and even bikejoring. Published by OK Publishing of Fairbanks, Alaska, and distributed by UA Press, this latest edition includes updated resources and bibliography.
