Canine Showcase and Trade Show

10AM - 4PM

Truly, without vendors, participants and volunteers there would not be a Barks By the Bay Canine Showcase and Trade Show each year. But, it takes you, our visitors, to make a success of the event!

Everyone is welcome!

There is no admission or parking fee to visitors and to fully enjoy the activities, vendor booths and doggie-games, we encourage you to bring your dogs with you. They will have a great time socializing with their peers and treating their humans to an unforgettable day! There is something for each and every one of them; from visits with other pets, treats (with their health in mind), fun contests that will bring out the "ham" in Fido, and quality time with other pups in the adjacent dog park and/or walks with you, their human friends, along the kilometers of groomed trails in Hanna Park.

Refreshments on site...

A number of vendors prepare and serve hot food ranging from the traditional "outdoors event" hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and cold drinks to chicken burgers and fresh crispy salads. Tea, coffee, milk, fresh squeezed lemonade and water will be available to wash down your meal and quench your thirst. You may even want to indulge the "kid" in you and munch on a toffee-apple!

Events

This year's events include a fashion show staring your canine friends, so be sure to deck them out in their finest and enter them in the show. A panel of judges will select the best in a number of categories, including Quinte West Canine King and Queen. There will be look alike contests, the cutest, the biggest, the smallest, the longest tail, the best trick and, to be sure, the BBTB committee will think up a number of additional reasons to show off our pets.

Again this year, the Shriner's Clowns will be on site to entertain your young ones with animal balloon sculptures, and there will be face painting for the kiddies.

Parking close by...

There is ample free parking on the streets adjacent to Hanna Park and in the parking lot of the Prince Charles school, a five minute walk to Hanna Park.

Shaded outdoor area...

If you haven't yet been to Hanna Park in Trenton, you will be impressed with the stands of mature trees providing cool shade from the hot sun. The dog park itself is home to tall stands of pine, cedar, maple and birch and the ground is virtually covered with wood chips giving the dogs secure, clean footing. There are two secure, fenced areas for the pets; a two acre lot where the dogs can get up a full head of steam and a smaller area reserved for pets under 6 months and small dogs of any age. There is fresh water on site for drinking, and if the day is hot, there is a small wading pool to cool them off.

The Vendor Booths...

Yes, the day is for our dogs... but the activities are centred around the vendors. Everything is dog-related; breeding, nutrition, health maintenance, safety, protective and fun clothing, and things to just spoil them with. The vendors participate to display their goods and services and to let you know what is available and where to get it in the canine world. If they don't have something you want, they will be more than happy to find you information that will help you locate it.
