Chewber "More Than A Fetch Toy!" Review

When I found this toy at a recent show I could immediately see the potential it had to be a useful training tool as well as a way to engage in a fetch game without requiring a lot of space. I was sold on the idea of the Chewber being the perfect cross between chew toy, tug toy and flying disc. I grabbed 2 different versions of the toy and I must say that the people who came up with this ingenious toy have a real winner on their hands!! The Chewber comes in 3 versions:

Mini Chew-b

Designed for puppies, smaller dogs and indoor play, It rolls on its edge like a penny for low to the ground pursuit. A smaller top radius that’s even easier to pick up.

MINI-CHEWB is sooo easy to throw
and it really flies!

Tug 'n Toss

TUG'nTOSS is designed for Terrier and Bull type breeds, or any dog that loves to tug and fetch.

An Excellent training tool for teaching dogs that love to tug how to fetch.
Great for dog on dog tug games and backyard play

ALLinONE

The ALLinONE was designed for Retrievers and dogs that love to run. Playing fetch is the easiest way to give your dog a great workout without working too hard yourself! Chewbers best flying, aerodynamic 'ALLinONE' was designed for durability & distance!

The 2 that we tested at Ontario Dog Sports were the ALLinONE and the Tug'n Toss. Both chewbers are really tough. I allowed my most intense chewer to have some time just independently playing with both chewbers and both of the Chewbers came out unscathed. To increase the dogs drive for the Chewbers we initiated some fun games of tug with these dynamic little discs and it was amazing that although these toys are made of reinforced rubber, they were soft enough for the dogs to get a really good grip on and firm enough to return to their "flying disc" shape once released. I have rolled the Chewbers up and I have tried to put a crease in them, but both of the Chewbers tested have yet to show their weak spot.

Both of the discs flew relatively well, on windy days you really need to make sure you have your throwing technique down because it is difficult to get much distance otherwise. The Tug'nToss claims to be perfect for backyard play and this seems to be the case as it consistently landed much earlier than the ALLinONE but the Tug'nToss also proved to be great as a food or water dish, due to its shape. With the softness of the rubber compound in the Chewber line of toys you could even start your retrieving training in a hallway or a large room and the Chewber wont damage walls or floors when used appropriately. There are flanges on the ALLinONE and dimples on the Tug'nToss to help you grip the toy after it has accumulated some slobber and these features work quite well. The Chewbers are also dishwasher safe so they can be cleaned up after some intense play sessions.

We all love these toys here at Ontario Dog Sports, and there is always a chewber in our training bags when we go out for some fun with our dogs. We fully support this Ontario based company and we think the people at Chewber have really "knocked one out of the park" with their ideas. This is a must have for people who only have limited space to play or train on a daily basis. The Chewber ALLinONE and Tug'nToss both get a 5/5 for their versatility, and for being such a fun toy for dogs of all breeds and sizes.

SCORE:

5/5
