ANTICDOG PRESENTS: JESS MARTIN - BRAWN AND BRAINS!
SEPTEMBER 15-‐16, 2012
BRAWN AND BRAINS!
Agility is a sport which demands a lot of our dogs both physically and mentally. When we line up at the start line, we do so with an athlete. Like any athlete a dog must be ready in both mind and body for what will be expected of them in the ring.
SATURDAY SEPT. 15 BRAWN!
The most successful canine competitors are both precise and powerful. Seconds are lost and placements determined by how aggressively your dog changes direction, digs in to wrap a jump, powers out of a tunnel, off the start line, or back towards you. Dogs of every shape and size can be taught to maximize their physical power on course.
In this seminar Jess will show us the foundation exercises she has developed to encourage dogs to work in ‘rear end drive’ and use their bodies efficiently and safely. When agility teams are struggling, it often takes a practiced eye to determine the root of a problem, particularly if the issue is the dog’s use of its body. Jess will use her well-known analytic skills to give participants a clear picture of how well their dogs move. She will suggest exercises to problem solve and maintain good movement throughout an agility career.
We are offering this as a full day seminar to give ample time to this important topic. This seminar is for anyone who wants to teach a dog how to move around a course powerfully, efficiently and safely. Most importantly, the seminar is for handlers who would like to benefit from Jess’ keen eye on their dog’s movement on course.
